Day 2: Visit Arusha National Park
Spend the whole day at Arusha national park. Your day trip will include a visit to the Ngurdo crater. Waterbucks, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, zebra and guinea can be seen all year round as well as many different birds species. The elephants are a little shy. Occasionally, one may also spot a leopard. At the momella gate, an armed ranger, will be waiting for you to accompany you on your walking safari that will give you the chance to experience the wildlife up-close. Only a few other parks in Tanzania gives you that opportunity and it is something you should not miss!
Basket lunch at a picnic site and in the afternoon, you will continue your tour in your safari vehicle driving back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Arusha - Tarangire
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and then a 2 hrs drive follows to Tarangire National park which is also known as the "elephant park". The landscape is made up of seasonal marshes and a seemingly endless tree savanna with Its mighty baobab trees.
The dry season runs from July to October and perhaps this is the best time to visit. The reason being that the Tarangireriver is the only permanent source of water. During this time, the wildlife tends to concentrate in its vicinity. You will be able to observe large herds of buffaloes and wildebeests as they come to drink.
Other animals in this park include: lions, leopards, zebras, antelopes and gazelles. Overnight and dinner at sopa lodge.
Day 4: Tarangire - Serengeti
After breakfast, the tour takes you to a lush crater uplands. The volcanic fertile soil allows crops such as wheat, corn and coffee to be grown. As you descend the Ngorongoro area, you will see the plains of Serengeti, Passing the Olduvai Gorge which is very dry. It is know very well do the work of the famous archeology couple Leakey’s. In the sixties, the couple di covered the old pre- historic human remains and a small museum documents their work. (A visit is optional) A lunch break at Naabi gate before starting your game drive Of Serengeti. Serengeti comes from a maasai word siringitu that means "endless plains.' You can see why the grassland Savannah in the South, stretches to the horizon and is only interrupted by the so-called kopjes (inselburgs).
These are bizarre rock formations formed by the weathering of granite outcrops. The plains are perfect hunting ground for leopards and other big cats. Here you Mil have a chance to view these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Day 5: Serengeti
Spend all day watching wildlife in the Serengeti, The area that you it visit will depend on where the migration herds. Usually the wildebeests and the zebras during the short rainy season of October and November are moving from the hills in the North, to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season of April, May and June they return north. With fluctuations of annual rainfall, the location of animals varies from year to year. Your guide will however know the location of the herds and where to get the best.
Day 6: Serengeti - Ngorongoro
After breakfast, you proceed to Ngorongoro conservation area, descending to the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorangoro crater considered as the UNESCO world heritage site as very few animals migrating in and out of the crater with its 2000 fts walls. The Ngorongoro crater has the highest wild animal density worldwide. Among the species are: lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, antelopes, rhinos, jackals, many bird species and many more species. You might expect to see the 'big' five' in one day. Day 7: Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara
Today you will visit the last National park in the 'Northern circuit'. Leave Ngorongoro after breakfast and descend to Lake Manyara National park known for its 'tree climbing lions'. A large area of the park covers the alkaline Manyaralake, which seasonally is visited by large colonies of flamingos and other water birds. On the lake shore you can spot elephants, hippos, buffaloes, various antelopes and gazelles and banded mongoose, After plentiful of wildlife watching, you will spend the night at lakeManyara Serena lodge.
Day 8: Lake Manyara - Arusha
After breakfast, you will drive back to Arusha arriving in the 'midmorning, relax until after lunch where by you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home with full of memories of your stay in Tanzania
